I was able to peel myself away from my couch and the madness of college basketball to hit the studio and lay down a few new tracks that I recently bought. I got ahold of some gems and this was a very fun mix to put together. It should have you moving the whole way through.
I was able to sneak a few minutes away from the busy week and hit the studio for a house music session. I bought a bunch of new tracks this week and put them to good use. This is a pretty fun mix, so play it loud!
Hot off the press is a new house mix for you to check out. This one has a slightly different vibe than most of my house mixes. I wanted to try out a new style and go a little more deep on this one. I think it turned out ok, and I might even try more of this style in the future.
Happy 2014 listeners. I thought I’d start off the year with a fresh new house mix. I really like this one, and have been bumping it all week. And if you’ve liked the previous ones, I’m sure you’ll dig this one too.
I’m still working up the motivation to start the weekly show again. I haven’t forgotten about it though.
Happy holidays peoples! I gifted myself a few new tracks and couldn’t wait to mix them up for a new podcast. This is a funky mix with a bunch of different vibes and a smooth ending. I had a blast mixing this together, and I hop you dig listening.
To give a brief update on the show, I was planning on bringing it back this month, but with the holidays, it’s just too hectic. So we’re going to start fresh in 2014. I’m aiming on the 8th of January. But I haven’t forgotten about the show, and we’ll be back up and bumpin in no time.
Lately, I’ve been hearing some really good (both old and new) hip hop that’s pushed me to take a breather from the usual house music, and get back to the roots of the type of mixes that started this site, good old classic hip hop. So I’m adding an addition to the Chill Mode series. I think it turned out pretty damn good. I’ve already rocked to it a few times, and I think you’d dig it too if you’ve liked previous ones.
The last couple months in the Press Record studio have been completely non-existent, due to me moving the fam into some new digs. And figuring out the kind of setup I want in the new place has been a challenge as well. But we’re all setup, and finally have the beats flowing again!
I’ve had a few tracks that I bought just sitting around, which motivated me to get the studio setup again. And as soon as I had it setup, I pressed record to start playing. This is the outcome.
No timeline on when we’re bringing back the Hump Day Bumps show. We are still without cable/internet, which is very much needed to stream. Hopefully we can be up and running this month. At the very least I’ll be more frequent on the podcast.
I’ve been holding on to some tracks for quite a while and finally got the chance to mix them together. The outcome wasn’t bad, but not my best. Overall, still a good set with some good energy. I’m not too far away from having a home studio again, which means the Hump Day Bumps Show will be returning soon.
While I miss doing the Hump Day Bumps Show, in a way this hiatus good because this summers new releases for house music have been pretty weak. I have been able to find a few gems here and there though. So I’ve been holding these tracks for a few weeks and finally got time to mix them together. I’ll be honest, though, it’s not my best mix. I’m very rusty, but it still bangs, and overall, it’s just good music…. which is really what matters.
Here’s the tracklisting…
Julien Jabre – Swimming Places
John Pridgen – Little Of That
Track Yankers – Good Ol (Jason Hodges Goody Goody Dub)
I seem to not be buying as much music now that I have the Hump Day Bumps show on hiatus for a little while. But I still manage to pick up some new tracks here and there. So here’s another funky house mix with a bunch of new tracks I’ve been waiting to buy, including one that I’ve waited for for about a year to come out. But overall it’s a fun mix. Perfect for playing loud with the sunroof open.
