Hip to the Bone

Hip Hop

Even though I had fun doing this weeks show, I felt incredible rusty. I loved the track selection, but wasn’t pleased with the execution. I wanted a do-over, so I decided to make another hip hop mix. Plus it was time to add another mix to the podcast anyways. But this one felt a lot better, and I had a lot of fun recording it.

Here are the tracks….

  1. X-Ecutioners – Solve For X
  2. Jeru The Damaja – Ya Playin Yaself
  3. Defari – Say It Twice
  4. Rasco – Sophisticated Mic Pro’s
  5. Jurassic 5 – What’s Golden
  6. Kanye West Ft. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj & Bon Iver – Monster
  7. Pharcyde – Groupie Therapy (Instrumental)
  8. People Under The Stairs – L.A. Song
  9. A Tribe Called Quest – Push It Along
  10. Asheru & Blue Black – Meals to Dinner Time Prelude (Instrumental)
  11. Hieroglyphics – You Never Knew (Remix)
  12. Beatnuts – No Equal
  13. Common – I Used To Love H.E.R. (Instrumental)
  14. De La Soul – Supa Emcees
  15. Jazz Spastiks – (Never Been To) California
  16. Little Brother – Nic’s Groove

I’ve thought long and hard about whether or not I wanted to bite the bullet on creating a Facebook page for this site. But with the radio show happening weekly now, and possibly needing to change times/days and having guests, it makes sense to have a place to be able to post these updates.

So head on over to Facebook and join the page to keep up to date with anything site related.

Hump Day Bumps Show – Hip Hop Debut

Hip Hop

This week was the first hip hop edition of the Hump Day Bumps Show. I decided to just merge the hip hop into this show, instead of creating a completely separate show that would end up being at the same time on Wednesday anyways.

As of now, I’m thinking every 3rd show for hip hop. If that format doesn’t work out, I’ll change it up. I’ll default to the listeners to let me know how they’re liking it.

The show went very well. Had lots of good feedback about the tracks played. I still need to find a better alternative to ustream. I’m not paying $99/month to be ad free, so I’m looking into Google Hangouts and some other stuff. Please let me know if you have suggestions.

Enjoy the mix!

Guest Mix: Steve Fox – Rhythm Sauce

Guest Mix Hip Hop

My buddy, Steve Fox, sent me over a mix that he cut together of some pretty chill hip hop tracks. It reminds me of Back in high school when we used to make tons of mixtapes on cassettes, and made sure we paused the endings of songs at just the right point so it would transition into the next song nicely. Those were the days.

Anyways, check out this latest guest mix. Some gems in there.
