I had the itch to mix a few hip hop tunes last night so I decided to jump on the decks and get busy.
Enjoy!

There is very little [new] hip hop that I get excited about these days. Which is unfortunate because of my love for the genre. But one group of producers, the Jazz Spastiks, get me pumped up every single time they release something new. And it’s always really really good. I thought it was only right to dedicate a Chill Mode mix to their music, since it’s so laid back.
So enjoy the mix, then go buy all of their stuff.
I had been thinking of doing a hip hop mix for weeks, if not months. So much good hip hop has come out this year. And I’ve put some of those favorite in this mix. It felt extremely good going through the tracks in this mix. There’s a couple rough patches here and there, but overall I really like the vibe and track selection. I especially love the ending track from People Under the Stairs, which came from their new album.
Enjoy, and I’ll post the track listing shortly.
Lately, I’ve been hearing some really good (both old and new) hip hop that’s pushed me to take a breather from the usual house music, and get back to the roots of the type of mixes that started this site, good old classic hip hop. So I’m adding an addition to the Chill Mode series. I think it turned out pretty damn good. I’ve already rocked to it a few times, and I think you’d dig it too if you’ve liked previous ones.
Enjoy!
Download MixI can’t believe it’s been over a year since I’ve mixed up a Chill Mode session, but I’m glad we’re back with another one. While the studio is still in a flux, I was able to get a mini setup together and mix up these tunes. Like all the past ones, this is very chill, with some old stuff, new stuff, and middle aged stuff. Enjoyable the whole way through.
I’ll post the tracklisting shortly.
Enjoy!
Download MixI’m a week late on getting around to this, but last week I meant to post a Gang Starr mix in tribute to Guru who passed away April 19, 2010. In the same way that I do my yearly Dilla tributes, it’s only right that I do the same for what might be my favorite all time hip hop duo.
This is, in no way, a best of. It’s just some tracks that I felt like mixing up and a few favorites.
R.I.P. Guru.
Enjoy!
Download MixI finally got around to making a long overdue hip hop mix for the site. I had been wanting to do this the past few weeks, but time got away from me. This isn’t my most crisp mix, due to a little rust on the hip hop mixing, but I really like it. So check it out. I’ll update this post with the tracklist soon.
Enjoy!
Download MixWe’re back with another guest mix! @die A. previously had a guest mix on this site, and I wanted to bring him back because his mixes are really good. So you’re going to want to play this. It’s very good, and very chill.
The mix includes official (latest) releases: Giano, Mark Farina, Tommy Largo, Es-k, J Bled, Guts, Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics, Tube & Berger, Paji, Savages y Suefo feat Judie Jay, Akshin Alizadeh and many more…
He has more stuff up on SoundCloud too, that’s worth a listen.
So check it out and enjoy!
